As already stated, what you're experiencing is as designed. I'd recommend just having your Ibis setting always on rather than just when shooting for the vast majority of situations. The only time shooting only is really a benefit is when you may have the camera at your hip and quickly pull up and take a shot almost in one motion. In that situation, it prevents Ibis rebound that occurs when moving the camera quickly as it needs half a second to settle into place.
