Which (custom?) Picture Control setting looks the most "realistic"?
1

Hello folks,

I am trying to figure out some Picture Control settings that make the jpg look most like "what I see".    I feel that means a bit of HDR dynamic range compression and contrast / saturation boost.  Settings like "Standard" or "auto" crush the shadows too much.  Neutral is kind of close, but still needs more shadow lifting.  "Flat" looks kind of grey and... flat.  I shoot raw + jpg, so I can tweak the pictures later, but I want the on-camera preview image to look good.  I feel as though the tone curve (or whatever it's called) should be some kind of S shape to boost the shadows but also enhance details in the highlights.
