I think the inset thumb and forefinger dials on the X100V are lighter and smoother in operation because the dials are molded plastic. The same dials on the X-T3 are milled aluminum. What are these dials on the X100F made from?

I'm not sure about the material used for the X100F's dials. I assumed metal for they somehow felt less plasticky than the dials on the X-E3, but that might just be down to the mechanism they are attached to.

Given the fine knurling on the X100V's dials, I'll be surprised if they are plastic, but I don't know. I'm not convinced the material from which the dial is made would necessarily affect the feeling of the ratchet mechanism that much. The ratchet is probably on a metal shaft and the dial itself just rotates that shaft. But again, it's just supposition on my part.

Edit: It's not a ratchet mechanism is it? You can rotate it in both directions!
