It is really a wave of bs and a refusal to understand something very simple which applies to every manufactured good. Having more than ONE option is ALWAYS better

i am sure everybody knows the cliché line that different people have different needs. this is true but ignores that SAME people have different needs. Say that i would prefer using a small body like an EPL or a GX for casual and street photography, i certainly would NOT like to be limited to that body size for wildlife or any shooting with longer or heavier lenses

The real problem is that the real choices aren't there- i.e. the smaller cameras are on an entry level spec, not semi pro/pro.

Well I do not know what makes for you and others cameras a semi pro/pro camera  but the point is the smaller the body the less easy it is to cram into it some of the features that make it more pro for you and other people

To put it in another way , there will not be in any distant future, if ever , a pro camera the size of the Gm1 and GM5

from what I have read  over the years , the best ibis available cannot be included in bodies like gx80 size

so maybe a semi pro body can be put on the size of the g80 or g90 model but I am sure that for many who have the same claim as you do, it will not be enough

ok so for you what size body would you want your semi pro/pro camera body be ?

So , once again more choices is better

I think the G9 is a particularly ill chosen example because i have read hundreds of people posts telling how satisfied they are by using the G9

Now that the G9 has a great price, I would not be surprised if this model is getting good numbers sales considering the actual shape of the photo market for Panasonic

Having models of different sizes and target audience within one brand is a sign of strength
