My perfect Holy Trinity!!! Tamron 70-180mm

It was an extremely long journey, but I finally completed my Holy Trinity of Lenses with the Tamron 70-180mm.

I never thought I would complete it based on size and price. Previously I had the Sony 70-200mm F4 as the 2.8 version was too large and heavy (not to mention the price) for my needs.

But now I have...

  • Sony 16-35mm F2.8 GM (replaced my Sony 16-35 F4 with a used GM lenses)
  • Sony 24-70mm F2.8 GM - my favorite lens of all time, so I went for the GM (also used).
    • Previously owned Tamron 28-75 which is a great option, but 24mm is my favorite wide angle and sometimes while traveling I don't take both my 16-35 and 24-70. Needed the extra flexibility of the GM, plus the built is the best!
  • Tamron 70-180 F2.8 - miss the Lens-IS of the F4, but the 20mm shorter length is not an issue.
    • Have you felt the size and weight for an F2.8, pure joy. Many time my 70-200 F4 would not make it into my bad. The 70-200 F2.8 GM would not make many travel trip for me.

For my needs, I am so happy with the Holy Trinity!
