I agree with Karen that there is a market for anything. How big that market is I couldn't say.

Personally I wouldn't buy one because, if I was in the market to buy a photo print (which I do) I think I would want it to be a photo, not a mock oil painting. Likewise, if I wanted an oil painting I would buy an oil painting. The texture of the paint and the way it interacts with the light is part of the appeal as is the painters skill in manipulating the paint to create the image.

f/2.8 is a smaller number than f/22 in the same way that 100 is a smaller number than 20.
