Sorry, I forgot the most important part: Yes, BBF generally works with AF-S but you can only release the shutter when the focus box is over an area that is in focus. When you recompose and after that the focus box is over an area that is out of focus the press of the shutter release button won’t do anything. That makes BBF useless in my opinion.

So yes, it theoretically works but has serious limitations.
