Re: What Essential Accessories Do You Recommend for the Fujifilm X-T4?

I was looking at the X-T4 specs page there. I didn’t realise each record rate was noted (doh!).

Record rates are:

  • 4K - 400Mbps/200Mbps/100Mbp
  • 1080p - 200Mbps/100Mbps/50Mbps
  • 1080p Slow Motion - 200Mbps200Mbps

400 Mbps uses up 50 MB/s.

So for the highest recording quality, you will use up:

  • 1 minute uses 3GB
  • 10 minutes uses 30GB
  • 30 minutes uses 90GB
  • 60 minutes uses 180GB

So a 128Gb card would realistically give you 40 minutes or so of footage.

If I was to go out shooting at that rate, I’d probably have to write to two 128Gb cards sequentially In order to maximise storage.

200 Mbps seems more reasonable as it records at 25 MB/s.

  • 1 minute uses 1.5GB
  • 10 minutes uses 15GB
  • 30 minutes uses 45GB
  • 60 minutes uses 90GB

A 128GB card would record about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Nevermind new memory cards, at these file sizes I’ll need a new PC 😀

I’ve mainly been considering V90 cards for future proofing etc, but Fujifilm note that you only need a v60 card for 400 Mbps.

”For recording movies in 400Mbps, use a SD memory card with Video Speed Class 60 or higher.”

I realise I’m stating the obvious here for many of you, but hopefully this helps those of you who were also curious about video file sizes.
