Hi everyone,

I'm Shooting on a 60D at the moment and have imho some good apsc lenses (Sigma 18-35, Tamron 17-50, EF-S 10-18) and two ff lenses (50mm, 70-300 II).

Now I'm thinking about moving on to a R/RP and was looking around for some sample images of the R or RP with EF-S or third party lenses in the crop mode. Does anyone know where I might find some? Would be perfect to get the raw or SOOC Jpgs to have a look.

I know that the crop will lead to a MP drop, but nevertheless would be cool to see some samples to make a decission.

Another option in my mind is to sell the apsc glass and buy a second hand 17-40 and an rp with the rf 24-105 kit to replace the 10-18 and the 17-50. but i wonder if such an "old" lens still makes up for the demands of a new mirrorless camera.

thanks for your help

Roger

My experience is that you will be unhappy using any of your APSC lenses on the EOS R. It will work but it defeats the idea of going to a full frame sensor. You're cropped down to around 11MP, it's just not worth it. The idea that you are not using the full potential of the camera will eventually force you to go nuts and buy a good full frame lens.......or just go nuts.

The only caveat is if you want to use your APSC lenses to counteract the crop at 4K video. But that's about it.

Below I have attached 2 images one a Canon 10-18 EF-s set at 10mm, the other a SAMYANG 14MM Full Frame. The differences are pretty obvious. I did not do any post processing so you could see the difference in distortion, fringing, etc. You will need to open up the originals to see the differences.
