My understanding is the whole camera division is sold so I don't see why the software development shouldn't go with them. So yes, we should see updates.

The cameras and lenses are packed with intellectual property and freezing the cameras (and even lenses) with no further firmware updates and feature additions and bug fixes removes a significant slice of the owner experience. I can't imagine going back to the E-M1 pre-FW4 or E-M1ii pre-FW3, as two examples. Will the M1X see any new AI modes? What about Olympus Workspace? Who keeps it current?

@Landscape, a new menu system for call OMDs going back to the/my EM1.1 delivered by a firmware update would be excellent - as well as reaffirming Olympus' commitment to its established user base.
