i never liked mid range zooms until I got my $899 RF 24-105 F4L and now it sits on my RP as the gateway to my best ever mid range zoom. I don’t think a great mid range zoom will ever happen with the m. I’d take a cell phone before getting an m100/200 setup. The m is about primes and the 11-22.

on a recent shoot outdoors I used my RF 24-105 F4L with a family and lots of tree limbs in the backdrop. The results were incredible - no chrome Abrasion anywhere on the limbs or in the corners. So I’m sold on this RF - since I love the zoom range and I’m a hater of CA.

IMHO the 24-70 f/2.8 was outstanding as a (half and full length) portrait lens on FF. An extremely versatile lens.

the version II - yep

I never did care for the original 24-105 f/4 though (on FF or crop).

me neither because of the CA and soft corners at 24 mm - until the best ever RF version which resolved the issues and as Dustin Abbott shows is the best ever 24-105 on the planet

I do think we'll get something better for the M System at some point.

hopefully

The M6ii is such a capable body that it'll make a nice zoom absolutely shine.

true - I'm over here lobbying for m5II with ibis and a great m mid range zoom
