Cheap macro flash light setup for begginer.

Hey all,

I'm looking for an advice regarding the flash light for my macro setup. I mostly look for a light weight setup but I do not want to loose in quality as well.

I have ordered a Neewer 750II TTL full size flash light to use it on a hot shoe with the diffusor on the lens and a reflector on the flash light.

However, later I have found that many people actually use small Canon EX 270 flashlight like that:

with pretty good outcome. EX 270 has a zoom head, Nikon's analog SB-300 doesn't.

As far as I understand the zoom head is not important. So now I think that I might be better with SB-300 with native i-TTL and small size.

What do you guys think about this question? Is the full size flashlight required or the smaller flashlight would be just okay? Also I worry that the small one won't be powerful enough, am I wrong here?

Thank you a lot for your help!
