If you can afford a 1DX2 buy it, it’s a huge upgrade compared to the 7d2. I replaced my 7d2 a year and a half ago and after having to make a small micro adjustment for my 600 I’ve been so impressed with what it can do.

With the 1.4 TC I don’t notice any loss of quality or speed with the 600 and 1DX2. With the 2x TC I do notice a loss of image quality so I only use that when it’s not safe to get closer to wildlife.

The only downside of the 1DX2 is batteries are more expensive, but last all day and the CFast 2.0 cards are more expensive also.
