And now you know why it's so cheap. Most of the Godox A/C strobes also don't autodump, btw. (When you go from a higher power setting to a lower one, you have to hit the TEST button to discharge the additional accumulated charge before the light will output what you've set).

The Godox model you probably want to look at if you wanted comparable pricetags would be the newerMS400 (Flashpoint Blaz), which has one more stop and does 1/32. The DP IIIs do 1/64, but are more expensive.

1/128 and 1/256 are pretty strictly either the TTL/battery-powered AD Witstro lights (AD400 Pro, AD600), or the QT II series. Much higher pricetags.

Speedlights spoil you on low power settings, because they're IGBT-controlled. Godox's QTII and AD lights are also IGBT. But all the rest of their AC-powered lights are voltage controlled (longer burst duration and variable color vs. power setting).
