What makes mirror telescopes good for astronomers but bad for photographers?

Your brain has evolved to ignore/correct the types of aberrations present in nature, like looking at things below the surface of water, which, empirically, is an optical disaster. It does not correct them much at all when looking at a photograph that has them. Your brain pretty much takes fixed images on surfaces as literal textures at a primitive level, and does very little correction.

Also, it helps with human vision to make things bigger, even if they have less underlying subject resolution. That's one reason that even the cheapest pair of plastic-lens dollar-store binoculars can help you read a distant sign, even though it adds a lot of aberration.
