Whilst kayaking a hour ago I tried to shoot an Osprey overhead and flipped the ship!

Not only camera but cellphone too.

The question; is there a way to take off lens without going thru the back, deep down I know this answer..

There is a good p1000 muted video on YouTube showing disassemblance, but doesn’t go beyond the circuit protector Stainless cover once removing the back.

Any help is good help

I can see 1/4”of water inside lens.

Time to call a service center...Even if you got is off and apart. Drying out the parts and reassemble will be a nightmare. Do you have any personal item insurance? You might be surprised to call your insurance guy and ask for advice. Some policies have a personal rider for cameras, jewelry, etc. Usually limited to $1,000, but that should be enough.
