Hi, I am looking for some camera advice. I am primarily am amateur photography (although I do a few paid gigs per year). Eventually, I would like to at least make a small side income from print selling, and someday become a full-time photographer. I shoot on an old Minolta X-700 film camera, and have a Canon 80D and 6D for professional and personal shoots. In addition to the Canon bodies, I have two nice lenses.

The thing is, I am very interested in purchasing the XT4, as I have been wanting to try a mirrorless camera, and I think that for travel, the lighter weight would be really convenient. I also am very keen on the stylized features that are available with the XT4, and am just overall very drawn to the images that this camera produces. However, I have heard that it's a bad idea to have more than one camera system, so I'm wondering if I should just stick with Canon. What do you think? Is the XT4 worth it? Would a different mirrorless camera be better? Do you think it would be a bad idea to have Fuji lenses and a camera + Canon lenses and cameras? I don't have a ton of photography friends, so I'm mostly just looking to get some thoughts on this potential investment. Thanks!

The camera doesn't really produce images, it's mostly you and the lenses that do that You should consider what lenses you want at least as much as what camera.

And whether it's a bad idea to have several systems or not depends on your own needs and preferences. Personally I prefer having only one system, but there are other people that might for example have several systems for different purposes. And if the X-T4 or any other mirrorless is worth it for you is something only you can answer.

The two main things I love about Fuji is that their gear is so intuitive and fun to shoot with and their amazing lenses.
