Nikon D700 in stop down mode after exposure

Everything went perfect until yesterday;-). I noticed that the aperture on my 50mm e series did not open up after a picture on my Nikon d700 (12000 actuations). I touched the stop-down button and let it go but nothing happened. I switched the aperture ring on the lens and the aperture closed and opened accordingly. Only after I took the lens of and mounted it again, the lens opened back to f 1.8 and everything worked normal again. The problem has not occurred since then. The aperture lever in the camera is not bent and looks clean and normal. The aperture blades in the lens do not show any traces of oil.

I have checked the user manual but could find not any option that closes down the aperture without touching the stop-down button. Do you have any ideas or the same experiences?

Regards,

Jon
