Re: Worth getting an old FL50 now ?

The FL-50 and FL-50R are getting a bit long in the tooth and may not work as well as they did in their youth.

The capacitors in a flash can deteriorate with age, especially if left in an uncharged state for a long period of time.

Getting a second hand FL-50 or FL-50R now carries a small risk that it won't work as well as you expect. However they are comparatively cheap and the risk may be worth it. It all depends on your requirements. For heavy or professional use I would avoid them but for light domestic use they may be worth a punt.

The other issue is their size. If you have got used to the relatively small size of m43 systems the size of the FL-50 and FL-50R may take a bit of getting used to.
