I'm a "fuji curious" Canon guy, and Canons love to blow out reds, especially flowers and tinted red lights. I think its because of the calibration to skin tones that it has this reactions.

Interesting. I just watched a video from a guy who said he kept removing the reds from skin tones on Canon but liked the skin tones on Fuji. Also that different generations of X-Trans have different color rendition.

My draw to the Fuji X-t3 was its Color Chrome feature that desaturated these colors that excite digital images, resulting in a more filmic color rendition. As a result I leave Color Chrome on all the time.

I wonder a lot about Fuji reds. The X-Trans sensor has 5 green pixels for every 2 red pixels.

There's obviously a lot of overlap between green and red in the way the human eye perceives color - I wonder if they exploit this overlap in a different way than Bayer sensor cameras.

I'm also interested in the Color Chrome feature and I'm liking the look of Classic Negative, but I still want a good Kodachrome film sim with golden skin tones and cyan skies. Classic Negative is getting there, but is not there yet.

Color Crhome On appears to drop the LUMINACE of the red channel (and other color channels), giving it a less hot electronic look.

...according to Fujifim:

"This effect produces deeper colors and gradation in subjects with highly saturated colors present in vivid and shaded flowers, which are notoriously difficult to photograph."
