Yeah, I already checked that with the user manual. The Exposure Compensation mode is not listed as a valid option for button settings.

Is this something that was added during by a later FW?

Hold down Disp/Back until the button settings appear. Move to the left dial config and see if you find the exposure compensation as an option. I suggest you update your firmware to the latest version first.
