What's the point of shooting a landscape at f2.8??? Even so, I didn't find it that much soft on the right. It could have been much worse.

Yes, it was for a test. Of course no one is going to use f2.8 for landscapes (unless it's for creative purposes or perhaps in strange circumstances).

I believe that testing the lens at infinity is more accurate (though for this lens infinite seems to be beyound 820m so not easy to find such a scene).
