Completely agree...

I completely agree. And digital cameras (all that I know of) now have a "spot meter" option built in, it would be interesting to see how/whether it agrees with the Sekonic.

On a semi-related note, I have an old Olympus E-1 DSLR that has developed a weird problem metering with any zoom lens except at the widest setting. It works fine when spot metering, though, so I'm glad that option dates back so far!
