Focus Peaking With Manual Lenses

Hi Everyone:

I have a Voigtlander 40 f/1.2 lens and a A7R3. I take street portraits, mostly during my travels, and mostly posed. I have found that moving the focus box and then using the magnifier to focus is way too slow a process. Even if I get used to it, it will still entail too much time. People get impatient, especially strangers, and even more so kids.

I am just wondering how accurate the focus peaking is for these types of portraits? I would imagine it is a much quicker process than using the magnifier aid. Does anyone have any experience using focus peaking with street portraits? Any tips? Best settings?

Thanks a bunch,

-Charles
