Don't recall exactly, just manipulated until they looked what I'd seen at the time of shooting... no HDR explicitly but I guess something similar in effect... both scenes had a pretty big DR so I ETTRd during the shot, then pulled up the shadows in post...

The one of the crane I sharpened pretty recklessly because the Tokina isn't particularly sharp on its own, until it looked good to me from a normal viewing distance, definitely not for pixel-peeping, but the Tokina is the wrong lens for that in the first place. Also pulled down the blues to darken the sky and bring out the clouds.

On the train shot I sharpened less but helped the saturation some, again until it looked like the scene I perceived.
