Is small aperture/deep DOF overrated?

One of the main advantage of m43 is said to be the deep DOF for landscape. But just how deep/small F value do you realistically need?

As I have been processing some of the shots from my Japan trip I want to show you guys an example.

Below is a photo shot with a FF camera (Canon EOS R with kit RF 24-105) with default LR setting (+40 sharpening) and lens profile correction. NO OTHER PROCESSING.

As you can see in EXIF this was shot at 24mm f9 (12mm f4.5 m43 equivalent).

Here's with quick 1 min editing with LR -

As said above this is f4.5 m43/f9 FF DOF which imho is aplenty. It needs plenty sharp at 100% from a 30MP FF sensor.

My question is - Does anyone really need to shoot past f5.6 on m43 for DOF sake?

Personally I just don't see it. What do you guys think?
