Glad to help and I learned some new things as well.

Regarding the exposure comp dail, you can tape it down and then use the exposure compensation in the menu and even map it out to a function button to call it up and then one uses the side buttons on the four button controller for setting the value.

I wouldn't put sticky tape on my own camera personally. Yuk!

Much better to get in the habit of checking your exposure.. and anyway the Ev compensation dial is actually very handy and it needs to be able to spin when I actually want to quickly compensate for a bright or dark scene.

This is much faster than using the function menu.
