Cross-talk artifacts are a function of the angle between the light and plane of the sensor.

Human skin emits IR light (red and lower). Red light increases cross-talk contamination.

You don't mention green hue problems with other subjects.

Whatever effect you are describing would be global, and we see in specific parts of the image only.
