I've had the 100-400mm for over 3 years, prior to that the Mk1 100-300mm. Used with G7, then G80 now G9. It's a great lens, dual IS helps. Warning, after using 400mm, you'll not want anything less.

Currently there isn't really any competition unless you spring for the 50-200mm f2.8 and the x2 convertor and that combo makes the 100-400mm look cheap.

The 100-400mm has come down in price, gray imports even cheaper. Also, worth keeping an eye on the eBay Panasonic Outlet and mpb.com.
