A photo will never be as revered as art

Many people revere photos as art

Art is nothing more than a representation of something, so that certainly applies to photographs. A long time friend and mentor taught at an art institute and he considered photography to be an art form. Are any of the images below any more artistic than the others?

Photograph with basic processing only

Some people think only black & white photos are art...

Photograph processed for black & white

Or applying a painterly technique to a photograph can make it appear more artistic...

Photograph processed for a watercolor look

To me, all three of the above meet the basic definition of art.
