I agree that the portraits have a 'foveon-essque' look.  The elk were about to shed their winter coats and the fur really shows up on these images.  I like the low res images from the Merrill, however, the low res images from the Quattro really rock!  From the sd Q the images look like SD15 files on steroids  In fact, I plan to do more shooting with the sdQ in low res when we can get out and do some shooting.

Pss:  I think some one already beat us to the patents
