I have an XT-2 and a lot of pics in uncompressed RAF, which take too much storage.

I recently learned that lossless-compressed RAF's are half the size of the original. Wondering if there is a way to compress them?

If you have a Mac, you can use ordinary compressions too (besides simply zipping them): You can either create (read-only) compressed disk images for finished projects or use file system compression, which is not automatic, but it's definitely there since Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. There is a third-party tool (command line only, but can be automated nicely with Automator/Services) which can compress files in-place:

or, according to this answer here:

https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/193893/how-do-i-transparently-compress-a-directory/265709#265709

you can use the ditto utility too when copying files.

You can also use these to make lots of free space on your internal drive by compressing huge apps to half. Mac system files are already compressed, but but dear Apple probably really wants us to buy more overpriced ssds…
