Hello,

I am thinking of an EOS M100 for IR Photography as a second body. I`m looking the whole time for a used one. Now I found an offer of an EOS M100 which has been modified for full spectrum for 350 €. Usually the service here in Germany is 250 €. That makes the camera 100 €.

I`m texting with the seller of the camera. It is just the third camera he modified but has example pictures. I was asking him a lot of questions. One was about removing the existing filter and replacing it with one that passes the light from UV to IR. He said that it is not necessary with a M100. But what I read so far is, that the filter needs to be replaced and the autofocus needs to be adjusted again.

AF doesn't need to be adjusted.

if he's selling it as a full spectrum, then it would pass UV. usually when this is done, it's just a piece of glass that they put in front of the sensor atypically with the same characteristics as the filter stack that was there before so that wide angle lenses still function as normal.

do you actually want to do UV photography? it's a bit tricky.

usually you get full spectrum so that you can shoot all the IR filters (ie: 590, 720, 850nm,etc) and also color. also can be used for astrophotography as well.  UV photography is usually an afterthought.
