And how all the 'real photographers' wouldn't be caught dead doing it? I guess they all died!

I'm a "real" photographer and I've always checked out results on the screen, as have all my professional associates. That's one (of many) valuable perks of digital as opposed to film.

Agree 100%. Checking results from shooting my DSLR’s from time to time makes perfect sense. If there are photographers out there that are so disciplined and capable that they never have the need to check their images, more power to them. For the other 90% + of us, being able to check our results on the fly is a great benefit of digital shooting.

I really doubt there are any working pros that don't check their shots; I've never run across one, anyway. What would be the benefit? ALL of us have had equipment screwups, gotten in a hurry and messed up a camera setting, discovered a distraction in the background, found a bad reflection or simply want to verify if we've captured a key shot. It would be self-destructive to ignore one of the most important benefits to shooting digital.
