Topaz DeNoise AI evaluation

Based on earlier posts, I thought I would try Topaz DeNoise AI, and see if it is something I want to buy.  So, I downloaded the trial and processed a few of my images in a very quick and basic way.

See what you think of these, and I'd like to know your opinions!

First image:

These are the settings I used.

This is the original.  It is cropped to 1/12 the area of the X-T3 sensor, and parquet noise is easily seen.

This is the DeNoised version.  It seems Topaz can't do it without a halo, even at the very low settings I used.

Second image:

These are the Topaz settings I used.

This is the original image.

This is the DeNoised image.  Nice and clear, but edges seem a little bit funny, and textures on the branches seem strange to me compared to the original.

My feeling so far is that Topaz DeNoise AI is not something I want to buy, but the free trial runs for 29 more days, so there is plenty of time to decide.

What do you think of these test images?

I have a couple more, can put them up too, if anyone is interested.
