Well, not the weight of lens, what may affect this solenoid function, but how easily the aperture lever on the lens moves. My Pentax-A 70-210/4 requires a lot of force to be moved, while on all my modern (DA) lenses this lever moves very easily. That's why I don't mount that lens on my KS1, I keep it permanently on K-x, which doesn't suffer from this illness.
