I've had a 5D MkII for many years, and for my uses, it's fine for stills where I use both an EF 35 F/2 IS, and a 45mm TSE - and a range of other lenses.  However, I was very disappointed with its video - possibly one of the first DSLRs to have "video" incorporated.   I noticed the effects of slow readout immediately, whereas my "proper" camcorders had never shown this problem.  Possibly OK if all your video subjects are slow moving, but beware of shooting faster moving items with a 5D II.
