Since you don't care too much about video then EM1mkIII all the way.

One simple reason - PDAF.

And why carry a bulky DSLR sized G9, totally defeats the whole purpose of going m43 imo

Hast thou forgotten that m4/3 is all about the sensor size, and not body size, Dennis?!

Which made it possible for a 78 year old man to tromp around the S. Is. of NZ for a month with a G9 w/ 200-800mm EFL Canon on a sling, and a heavy adapted 4/3 14-150mm Leica gem on the GH5 (heaviest of m4/3 bod's to date) on a Cotton Carrier belt mount, with 7-14/4.0 in a jacket pocket, and the grenade-sized Canon 2X TC in another.

And yes, I took full advantage of the Panny's best-in-class 4K video - including 60p for slo-mo playback. Below, the world's rarest penguin with G9, Canon 100-400 II, and w/ 2X TC for 2nd half with juveniles @ ISO 3600, f/11, 1600mm EFL. A tough beach access, all hand-held sitting on a boulder. Think of what you could do with kids!
