Hi, I've just bought the EOS R and am trying to download the images onto my computer using a card reader and Zoom browser but no can do. I like to use a viewing program to download so I can decide what photos to edit before getting into the DPP converter. I can transfer the images onto the computer using the card reader but can't view them like I can do with Zoom Browser. Any suggestions?

We don't deal in super high volume. I really like Canon's EOS Utility. I download wireless. Connect the RP to our WiFi (same network as our computer). EOS Utility previews the files and lets me select which to download. When I do, it creates a folder in my Pictures library with a standard date naming convention (05152020). I can modify the naming convention to our liking or rename later. I bookmarked the main folder in DPP4 - so easy to edit. And I can copy the whole folder to our NAS library, keeping the naming convention for backup.

The thing I like about this set up is I'm not constantly removing an re-inserting the card. I worry about damaging the connections.
