Hi, I have just picked up a SX60 HS as an alternitive to lugging my dslr and multiple lenses with me. I have gone through a downloaded mamual but can't find (or missed) the answer I'm looking for,

Is the stabilisation icon flashing in red, telling me the stabilization is working, or needs to be activated. IS is on in the settings.?

It is just fussing that the stabilisation is not up to the job at the shutter speed but often it can be ignored with reasonable results.

Whoeversaid the sx60 is not the best in low light wasn't wrong. I know the far end of the zoom range is not the easiest to work with, but it seems so easy to finish up at the long end.

They were wrong if considering it an expectation in assessing this sort of camera. These cameras are just not really designed for low light and it shows a lack of appreciation of the offsetting factors which are inevitable in the design of any such camera.

I can't see the D7500 being made redundant any time soon.

There is no one camera solution for anything so that will be the case.
