Samyang only has 1 RF AF lens, and at 14mm it's prob not being challenged very much.

Not proving anything indeed.

Still hoping they port their 45mm 1.8. That thing is the perfect budget standard prime.

No IS.....

that's a problem with the R, not the lens. Everyone else is trending IBIS, and even canon will be all IBIS one day.

Ha, yes, my post summarized in 2 sentences. W/the R5/R6 unstabilized glass is no longer a deal breaker. Canon planned for this, and we should too.

R6 is only 20Mp,

Enough for plenty of people.... not far from the 24MP in the Z6/A7III.

and for me it will take quite some time to save up enough for the R5....

Fair point.

Furthermore: there are a lot of IS lenses in the RF collection which could be a sign Canon IBIS might not be as stable without IS in the lens compared to other brands.

I think it's more likely that Canon wants to leverage IS + IBIS together. Especially for longer glass. Plus Canon still has non IBIS bodies, and will want to make cheaper lenses appealing to those users too. Sony still makes OSS equipped lenses despite no longer selling non IBIS bodies (AFAIK).
