RAW is always full resolution

Barry Twycross should have the right answer.

In case of RAW, no matter what is the aspect ratio been used, Panny camera will always save the image in full 4:3 resolution.

The following is a tested shot on RAW, but shooting at 1:1 format. Review of that RAW file on the back LCD of camera will show 1:1. However if that RAW was opened by a non related RAW converter to Panny, e.g. the Dark Table, we can see the RAW is actually in 4:3 format.

The following is a screen snapshot of that file under Silkypix:

Since Silkypix is a compatible RAW converter to Panny camera. It knows the file was originally shot at 1:1. The Red Box was the RAW file at 1:1 (same as review on camera), but we can actually use the cropping tool to reclaim the hidden area back to full resolution in 4:3 format.

But we can't revert a 1:1 SOOC jpg back to 4:3.
