The reason FTZ adapter bottom is not flush with Z6/7...

It bothered me that the FTZ was not "designed right" to be flush with the Z6/7, but I think I figured it out.

The FTZ becomes the fulcrum point for F mount lens especially when mounted on a tripod (except the super prime and super telephoto lens which have their own tripod foot) .

As such, FTZ must be the even or sit lower than the camera body. The base of the FTZ is 4 mm lower than the bottom of Z6/7 and 8 mm lower than the bottom of Z50.

The largest Z bodies (Z8 or Z9) have not been announced but will certain be larger and taller, and I suspect will be flush with the FTZ.

(This is what happens when you are quarantined, and your mind wanders aimlessly with too much time on your hands.)
