Like Trevor, I use a G9 for motorsports, coupled with the PL 50-200.

I have no issues with the AF performance of this kit; especially with head-on shots approaching you it just plain nails shot after shot after shot in focus. Panning can be a different story, but close observation of the OOF images shows that this is usually due to my panning technique not staying in sync with the moving vehicle. It's possible this is an EVF/OVF thing, so would not necessarily improve with a different mirrorless camera. In any case, I do have an EE-1 Dot Sight which I intend to try out this year if there are any events available to attend...

I've found the PL 50-200 to be just about the perfect lens in terms of focal length range for motorsports. The close end is short enough for the short-range shots, and it obviously reaches farther than a zoom that tops out at 150mm.
