Hi,

I'm a Fuji X owner looking for a new camera either as a spare or new main tool for reportage work.

I'll be using this body with a 28mm FF equivalent and the options I'm considering are:

  • Fuji X-Pro2 with 16mm f2.8 (no X-Pro3, no 16mm f1.4, no 18mm), 1100€ in total
  • Leica M typ 240 used (found at around 2500€) with summicron 28mm f2 (a virtually new showroom sample at 2800€)

I'm not asking the usual Fuji vs Leica question, I'm leaning towards the Leica but I have one main concern: do you think a digital camera produced worst-case 8 years ago still make sense?

I'm not considering the usual "a newer model doesn't make an older model worse" just a purely ageing-related consideration. Is there any Leica M 240 owner in here happy to share his or her experience when it comes to reliability, service, costs of part replacement, etc...?

Other considerations are also welcome eh!

There are also other two minor issues I see with the Leica but I guess I can live with them: no ISO dial and no dual card slot.

Thanks a lot!
