Re: I may charge my G16 battery and take it out again

thanks Henry. Your experiences and fondness for the G16 have confirmed my hope to get one. The form factor of the camera and the positive comments for its performance and image quality (noting its a compact lens, its sensor size and its age) suggest it would be perfect as a easy to pack substitute for carrying a dSLR (which is what I do mostly, Nikon D7500 or D3300). I realise it won't rival the dSLR and I would use that for 'serious' photo excursions. The G16 is compact but with a suite of 'hard' controls. But not too compact by the look of it - tall enough for larger hands to grip comfortably.

Both the G15 and G16 are quite good. The G16 had some small improvements though (including handheld HDR for jpegs), but nothing so big. If the price was close I would get the G16, of course, but if the G15 is much less and if you want to save money then I would say the G15 would be fine.

I have lots of m4/3 gear that I also use and I still have a couple of APS-C DSLRs and lenses packed away in storage back in the States.

Good luck with whatever you decide!
