I was going to say that. Some good deals can be found on refurbished cameras.

So what are the disadvantages of buying the T8i?

If you have been using Canon Rebel cameras, the T8i will be latest of the line. I see no disadvantages at all — except the fact you cannot buy one right now. (I currently have Rebel T6s and Rebel SL2. I really like using them and enjoy the images they produce.)

I miss Full Frame

What else? Do I miss a lot of Dynamic Range?

I need new lenses if I go FF

As I said, you will new EF lenses if you buy, say, a 6D Mark II. EF lenses may be mounted on Canon APS-C cameras, but EF-S lenses cannot be used on Canon FF cameras.

I have no problems with “lack of Dynamic Range” when shooting with SL2, T6i, 80D, 5D3, 6D2 and R. The so-called reviewers, who touch the new cameras for a day or two, make loud noises about this “issue” (which is a non-issue to me) — I focus on creating beautiful images and ignore them.

If you have personally been affected by DR limitations with Canon sensors, I would like to hear about your specific problems — maybe I or someone else in this forum can help address them.

In general, what you usually shoot and what you intend to do ultimately with your images will determine the camera suitable for you. “Full Frame” in a vacuum means little.

thanks

limitations ive had w t4i are

the crop makes it hard to get wide angles

when I shoot wide dynamic range I blow out highlights if I don’t bracket
