Hey! Went through an issue with internal memory today and did a bunch of research on the internet regarding internal memory on specifically the X100V. I took a photo, thinking my memory card was in the camera (it wasn't) and got home trying to access it. A lot of blog research like this led me to believe that it was in the camera but I couldn't access it through troubleshooting and research.
Finally I called Fujifilm today. From the horses mouth: "none of the x100 cameras have an internal memory storage. When a photo is taken without the SD card, you can view it but it does not save at all. It's a feature that enables customers playing with the device in store to see their image with out it affecting the storage of the camera. " For credibility purposes I asked how long the gentleman has been at Fuji and he said he's been there since before the first X100 dropped, so I take his word as solid.
That has flipped everything I've read on the internet related to internal storage on any X100 series, but for sure the X100V. So don't fret like I did trying to find the image - it's not there! Just don't forget your memory card!
Would love to hear any comments that would go against what I just learned.
I think that feature was eliminated in the X100f. See the little 'in' icon on the monitor of my X100T and the number next to it? That's telling me I have room for 31 shots in internal memory at the image size and quality I selected. Actually, the T was smarter than the S because it automatically switches to small size, which probably resulted in fewer support calls about the message in the subject line.
