Re: Panasonic naming is insane

Did this naming scheme start with the GX80 and G80? When I had the first model GX7, I don't remember it having a different name in other countries.

it didn`t ......

The GX8 followed and expanded on the GX7 which itself was (after a big gap) the answer to the "wheres the GX1 replacement" .... later the GX80 was really a missing link between the GM5 and the GX7 - it wasn`t really a GX7-II , hadn`t the handling of that camera or the flip EVF .... I see the "GX9" really as a GX90,a 20Mp GX80 with some fluff added to try and make it more GX7 like - it still hasn`t the grip and feel of the GX7 and is miles behind the GX8 in this regard

That's not what I'm actually asking. My G80 is also named G85 and G81 in other regions of the world. I'm wondering with what camera models did Panasonic first start using this regional naming scheme.
