LA-EA5 being developed?

The following popped up on Facebook Sony ALPHA Camera - Talk overnight:

Video: Sony a7III, modified LA-EA4 and Minolta screw drive AF 35/2

Development of a re-engineered Sony LA-EA4 named the MonsterAdapter LA-EA4r.

Involves replacing the chip of LA-EA4, removing its translucent mirror, blocking its AF module and allowing the mirrorless bodies' phase detection AF to take over.

The really significant step is the development of a new chip, allowing mirrorless AF to take over.

Advantatages: you can

1. gain 1/3 to 1/2 of a stop of light without the translucent mirror;

2. use all AF points/features whatever the body can provide including eye focusing tracking for still shooting (temporarily not for shooting video);

3. have really precise and reliable focusing and theoretically eliminate the need of micro AF adjustment.

4. use those A mount legendary screw drive AF lenses.

Still under development by a private individual in China apparently. May - or may not get into commercial development.
